Let The Devices You Carry be Your Identity with Enole

Identity is always a big issue on the internet.  Remembering passwords, which emails you used for what account and always the issue of identity theft if someone were to get a hold on that information.  Well identity authentication startup Enole is aiming to change all that.  Enole is providing a secure way to use the same login information to access the internet with a large number of online enabled devices.  The Enole platform is also able to pass on identity information with devices that use Bluetooth, RFID, and WiFi technology.

Currently Enole's big focus is on mobile devices and identity.  Which makes sense because just about everyone has one and a large percentage of those devices are either internet enabled or have Bluetooth, RFID, or WiFi capabilities.  According to Enole:

"Regardless of the communication technology or the hardware, Enole's task is to say "This really is The Grinch," and pass that validation along to whatever application needs to know – retail, banking, social networking, security, healthcare, or Santa's GPS..."

Enole stores very little information as possible to keep the consumer protected.  No names, account numbers, social security etc. are used.  Each individual is recognized by their mobile device.  But with nothing much stored on their end the consumer has little to worry about with their privacy.  One of the best things of all is that Enole is opening up their platform in a RESTful API.  Any developer that wants to integrate Enole into their products can to so by just visiting the site and downloading the Enole Authentication API.

An example of the types of uses that Enole can be used for is an application that they have just recently released.  The application locks your computer when it detects that your mobile device is walking away form it.  Another use case is an application they are building named ZapCash.  With a your mobile Bluetooth enabled device you can send monetary transactions to another bluetooth enabled device.

The possibilities with this technology is almost endless.  The days of carrying around our wallets/purses are coming to an end and soon all that will be needed is your mobile device.  Would you still have fear for your privacy?  How willing would you be to give up that wallet?  Let us know in the comments below.
