eCarServices.com Re-Launches with new Logo and Layout
Los Angeles – August 14, 2008 –eCarServices.com re-launches with a new logo and design layout. eCarServices is an online auto repair service dedicated to helping you obtain better information about the best way to get your car fixed.
“Have you ever wondered if your mechanic is charging you a fair price for your auto repair?” This question nagged Paul Kim, co-founder and CEO of eCarServices.com until he asked his own trusted mechanic and friend, Tommy. When they realized there was no simple solution for consumers, a business idea was hatched and eCarServices, Inc. was born. When a mechanic quotes you a repair estimate, you will likely find yourself wondering some of these thoughts: • Am I getting ripped off? • I wonder what the actual price of my auto repair is? • Where can I get another professional opinion that I can trust? • How much should I negotiate for? • Should I just wait to repair my car until the problem gets really bad? Traditionally, these questions and concerns were left answered because of a lack of price and information transparency - consumers could never easily obtain a ballpark estimate to confirm a repair quote’s accuracy. That is, until now. eCarServices offers an extensive database of auto repair part and labor estimates. But pricing is not the only issue. Getting the right diagnosis is another problem that eCarServices.com addresses with a feature called “Ask Tommy”. By asking questions directly on “Ask Tommy”, users can get advice and answers about their specific symptoms. In addition, users can register a vehicle profile under section called “MyCar” where they can keep track of their maintenance records. Finally, eCarServices.com also helps people find reputable mechanics through its mechanic search engine, which filters mechanics by proximity, user-generated reviews, and ratings. The eCarServices team is comprised of a couple of normal, laid-back guys from LA who came together because they happen to like cars…a lot. But they are also socially conscious folks who take pride in helping our communities and fellow neighbors. Over the last year, they worked tirelessly to compile data from auto repair experts to assemble the "first-of-its-kind" auto repair estimating website on behalf of car owners nationwide. It is their hope that this information will "level the playing" field between you and your auto professional so that you conduct transactions that are fair and make sense for both parties. Just to be clear, eCarServices not claiming that all mechanics are "ripping you off", on the other hand, there's no reason why you shouldn't know the true market rates for your car repair expenses. At the very least, it will provide peace of mind where there was none before. After all, your vehicle wasn't built any differently than another car of the same model, year and manufacturer – in fact, those building specifications are pretty specific. And let's face it - no matter how well you take care of your car during it's lifetime, it will probably need some minor or major repairs/maintenance every once in a while. The founders’ goal is to build a business that helps people. “A mechanic provides a specialized service in the local community like a doctor or dentist, and people should have better information to vet their repair needs and expenses.” Paul’s mission is simple and clear: “Our goal is to be the most trusted broker of auto repair information. In doing so, we can protect car owners from ‘getting ripped off’ and grant them peace of mind.” Shouldn't everyone be getting for a fair deal? eCarServices: No Longer Get Ripped Off by Your Mechanic
This morning I had the chance to talk with Paul Kim CEO and Co-Founder of eCarServices, Inc. and eCarServices.com. Paul told me about his own story of how he didn’t understand his car repair bill and challenged his mechanic, Tommy, to show him the details. The site was born out of their fruitless search on the internet and is still growing today. Check out my interview w/Paul below.

Guest post by Alex Reich of alexreich.com Getting good feedback from a colleague you respect is useful; getting it free from a professional is better; but getting advice from four seasoned professionals in a peer environment at one sitting is priceless. I was lucky enough to be one of those facing the firing squad below and would gladly do it again with my next startup. There are a lot of valuable gems of advice in these videos. Special thanks to the sponsors (including TechZulu) and especially Andrew Warner of Mixergy for putting on the event. The Panel of Experts: Sean Percival on SEO
